Yota - Mikhailosky Ballet

Holographic Film Installation, The London Coliseum, London, UK

A mesmerising holographic film installation to celebrate the Mikhailosky Ballet premier of Swan Lake at The London Coliseum, the home of the English National Opera. The film was first exhibited at the Yota sponsored premiere after show party, as a spellbinding holographic installation using Musion’s Eyeliner system - a reinvention of the Victorian stage illusion, Pepper’s Ghost - in which the prima ballerina dances before turning into a glass swan and then shattering into a flurry of crystal butterflies.

Laura Jean Healey was hired as the Director of Photography by Musion to light and film the Prima Ballerina. The installation received great acclaim and was awarded the 2010 Musion Academy Media Award.
